Christmas 2010
December 22, 20102010 was a year of changes for us around the Sure Dad household. First, our youngest graduated in the spring. Second, in the middle of the summer I left my job of 12 years and started a new one that has me traveling every week, leaving on Mondays and coming home on Fridays. Third, as of Fall 2010 we had 3 kids in college (I don’t even want to think about the amount of Parent Plus loans Bekki and I have in our names). Fourth, as a result of number three, we are empty nesters. Big changes. Our grocery bills have dropped significantly but the silence of the house as increased significantly and sometimes I’m not sure that it’s a good trade-off.
We ‘re thankful that our 3 kids are in college and, as of the end of the first semester of the year, they’re all passing their classes and doing well, but we sure do miss ‘em! Kids have to move on and do their own thing. Pretty much they don’t listen to us too much but we like to give lots of advice anyway (or at least I do). Bek and I just keep reminding each other that they’re good kids and they have to make their own way, just like we did.
